Working Hour

In my offer letter, the working hour states,
Monday to Friday : 8.30am till 5.00pm
Saturday : 8.30am till 1.00pm (yes, we still work half day)

Boss : Everyone please take note, there will be a roadshow in Mid Valley, I'll place this duty roaster on the notice board (yes, its notice board, not email) please check out your schedule.

Me : My duty is on Wednesday, from 4pm to 10pm, boss, does that mean that I can go straight to Mid Valley without coming in to office?

Boss : NO!! you still need to report to work at 8.30am.

Me : That means, on wednesday, i gotta work from 8.30am, till 10pm????Which is more then 12 hours.

Boss : (Nod)

Me : So boss, since i am working such a long hour, do i get any extra allowance?

Boss : NO.

Me : Then, can i choose not going to the roadshow?

Boss : NO. You MUST go.

Me : So boss, can i claim petrol, toll or parking fee?? since i am driving to Mid Valley.

Boss : NO. All on your own cost.

Me : So, that means, i'm going to work extra for the company at my own cost??

Boss : YES!!!

Well, thats the company policy.
Although the working hour stated is 8.30am to 5.00pm, whenever there is a Roadshow, which we normally are required to work much longer hour, there wouldn't be any allowance given, plus, we gotta come out our own cost to travel to the Roadshow venue. No transportation being arranged, no claims allow.

The company's KPI, to SQUEEZE the staff as many as you can.

New Tie

Have you seen the company who force the staff to buy uniform?
My company did.
Well, i'm a Sales in a local listed company.
Being a indoor sales, we are required to wear uniform. When i join, my manager told me that i need to purchase my own uniform because being a not confirmed staff, I am not entitle for free uniform. Upon my confirmation, i'll be given ONE uniform. I was speechless.
First, i am forced to purchase that uniform, i can't tell that I do not want to buy it. Second, after 6 months working, and confirmed, i only got ONE uniform, which is definitely not enough. Say after a year, which my uniform is fading, and i need a new one, YES, i must buy it. Even if you work for this company for 10 years, 20 years, they will only supply you ONE piece uniform.

Recently, the company plan to change the design of the tie for Male uniform, and YES, all male sales person gotta BUY the tie. The company is not going to give you a free tie.

I can't help laughing after seeing all the male sales taking out RM 26 to pay for the new tie, of course, very reluctant, because being a female sales, I save that RM 26.
